Healthier Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee

1. To elect a Chairman for the Committee for the 2026/27 municipal year, with effect from 15 May 2026

   RESOLVED that Councillor Amanda Edwards be elected as the Chairman of the Committee for the ensuing municipal year.

2. To elect a Vice-Chairman for the Committee for the 2026/27 municipal year, with effect from 15 May 2026

   RESOLVED that Councillor Ceris Jones be elected as the Vice-Chairman of the Committee for the ensuing municipal year.

   i. Councillor Amanda Edwards apologised for her inability to attend the meeting due to being away on other Council duties. ii. Councillor Ceris Jones apologised for her inability to attend the meeting.

In addition, Members must declare any prohibited party whip which the Member has been given in relation to the meeting as per the Local Government (Wales) Measure 2011.

   RESOLVED that Councillor Amanda Edwards be elected as the Chairman of the Committee for the ensuing municipal year.

   Councillor Eryl Evans proposed and was seconded by Councillor Keith Evans that Councillor Amanda Edwards be elected as the Chairman of the Committee for the ensuing municipal year. It was unanimously RESOLVED that Councillor Amanda Edwards be elected as the Chairman of the Committee for the ensuing municipal year.

   To elect a Vice-Chairman for the Committee for the 2026/27 municipal year, with effect from 15 May 2026

   RESOLVED that Councillor Ceris Jones be elected as the Vice-Chairman of the Committee for the ensuing municipal year.

   Councillor Eryl Evans proposed and was seconded by Councillor Ann Bowen Morgan that Councillor Ceris Jones be elected as the Vice-Chairman of the Committee for the ensuing municipal year. It was unanimously RESOLVED that Councillor Ceris Jones be elected as the Vice-Chairman of the Committee for the ensuing municipal year.
