Decided: The committee agreed seven points. It asked for a future report on highway policies for utility companies and planning developments. It agreed to add what 3 words to the carriageway repair reporting form, to communicate better with people whose repair reports do not go ahead, and to hold an all-member workshop on winter maintenance practice. It asked for ways of reporting salt levels in salt bins via QR code to be investigated, and for a set period for refilling salt bins to be added to the winter maintenance policy. It recommended the draft policies for approval by the Executive Board, subject to these changes.
Decided: The committee deferred the application. It will be considered again after further talks with the Engineering Department and representatives from Welsh Water.
Decided: The committee refused the application. It said the change would have an unsatisfactory impact on highway safety because of existing parking congestion in the area, which is contrary to Policy SW11 of the Merthyr Tydfil Local Development Plan.
