RESOLVED to exclude the press and public from the meeting during the discussion on the following item due to the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 12, Section 4, Schedule 12A, Local Government Act 1972. There is no public interest that calls for disclosing personal information about these individuals. Decided: The Committee recommended that Cabinet apply the precautionary principle. It asked Cabinet to give the greatest weight to protecting the ecosystem of the lakes at Cosmeston Country Park, and no weight to Council income, when considering an aqua park or similar activities there. The Committee voted 6 to 5 in favour. An earlier motion to ban aqua park operations that could expose children to contaminated water was tied at 6 to 6, so the Chair used her casting vote against it and it was not carried.
