RESOLVED – (i) That the consultation response to the Welsh Government’s White Paper – Securing a path towards Adequate Housing, including Fair Rents and Affordability as set out in Appendix 2 to report COH/06/25 be approved. (ii) That this matter be dealt with as an urgent item of business in accordance with Section 5 (Rule 5.8.10(e)) of the Council’s Constitution. Reasons for decisions (i) To respond to Welsh Government’s request for responses to the current consultation exercise prior to the closing date of 31st January 2025. (ii) To ensure that the Council’s response is submitted by the required deadline.

The Chief Officer Housing submitted a report (COH/06/25) to provide details of a White Paper consultation being carried out by Welsh Government, regarding the processes and policies that it needs to have in place in order to achieve its long term aspiration of enshrining into law, the right for everyone in Wales to able to access adequate housing.
