RESOLVED – (i) That the response to the current Welsh Government White Paper on Environmental principles, governance and biodiversity targets as set out in Appendix 1 to report COET/18/24 be submitted to the Welsh Government. (ii) That this matter be dealt with as an urgent item of business in accordance with Section 5 (Rule 5.8.10(m)) of the Council’s Constitution. Reasons for decision (i) To respond to the Welsh Government’s request for responses to the current consultation exercise scheduled to finish on 30 April 2024. (ii) To ensure Wrexham County Borough Council’s views are considered in the development of the White Paper on Environmental Principles, Governance and Biodiversity Targets. (iii) To ensure that the Council’s response is submitted by the required deadline.

The Chief Officer Environment & Technical submitted a report (COET/18/24) to provide details of a White Paper by Welsh Government on Environmental Principles, Governance and Biodiversity Targets.
