RESOLVED - (i) That Members note the Council’s response, set out in the consultation document. (ii) That the draft consultation document be forwarded to Welsh Government as the official response from Wrexham County Borough Council. (iii) That this matter be dealt with as an urgent item of business in accordance with Section 5 (Rule 5.8.10) of the Council’s Constitution. Reasons for decisions (i) Approving the draft response will enable the Council to give an official response to the consultation (ii) Give the Council an opportunity to help shape national policy by providing feedback (iii) To respond to Welsh Government’s request for responses to the consultation exercise by 16 January 2024.

The Chief Officer Housing submitted a report (COH/58/23) to provide details of a consultation by Welsh Government regarding proposals to reform Part 2 of The Housing (Wales) Act 2014 and what these will mean in practice for local authorities in Wales.
