RESOLVED – (i) That the submission of a response to Welsh Government’s Green Paper regarding Adequacy of Housing and Fair Rents, as set out in Appendix 1 to the report, be approved. (ii) That this matter be dealt with as an urgent item of business in accordance with Section 5 (Rule 5.8.10) of the Council’s Constitution. Reasons for decisions (i) To respond to Welsh Government’s request for responses to the current consultation exercise prior to the closing date of 15 September 2023. (ii) To ensure that the Council’s response is submitted by the required deadline.

The Chief Officer Housing submitted a report (COH/35/23) to inform Members of a Welsh Government consultation regarding the possibility of introducing a series of measures aimed at regulating the quality of housing and rent levels in the privately rented sector.
