The Lead Member for Corporate Services submitted a report COGC/106/23 which summarised progress of the ICT & Digital Strategy 2020-23 following completion of the third year. As the strategy was adopted November 2020 this third year refers to the period November 2022 – March 2024. The Lead Member introduced her report and the ICT Service Manager responded to questions accordingly, thereafter. During the discussion, the following issues were referred to, in particular: · Acknowledgement of how long the annual capital ICT hardware refresh allocation of £250,000 had been in place. It was noted that issues such as budget and recruitment had had an impact on the programme which had meant that some projects had been delayed. It was noted that training budgets had reduced in an effort to meet the current deficit. · Request for further information on the sustainability of the annual capital ICT hardware refresh budget. · The need to consider customer satisfaction levels in respect of access to Council services. · Reference was made to the reference in the report to a correlation between the increase in those customers accessing information digitally and the increased level of Council resources and support available to those service users who were not able to access services digitally. It was suggested that statements in regards to this needed to be better evidenced. · The Chief Officer Governance and Customer confirmed that the option to access services via telephone remained in place and services could be accessed face to face via Contact Wrexham and libraries. · The need to better promote the digital support available in contact Wrexham and libraries through Council correspondence and QR codes on public notice boards. AGREED – That the report COGC/106/23 be noted.
AGREED – That the press and public be excluded from the Meeting during consideration of the following item as it is likely that, if they were present, there would be disclosure to them of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 14 of Part 4 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).
