RESOLVED – (i) That the submission of a response to the current Welsh Government consultation, as set out in Appendix 1 to the report, be approved. (ii) That this matter be dealt with as an urgent item of business in accordance with Section 5 of the Council’s Constitution. Reasons for decisions (i) To respond to Welsh Government’s request for responses to the current consultation exercise scheduled to finish on 16 June 2023. (ii) To ensure that the Council’s response is submitted by the required deadline.

The Chief Officer Education & Early Intervention submitted a report (COEEI/16/23) to inform Members of a Welsh Government consultation on Welsh Language Education Bill and to seek support for the Council’s response to the consultation which the Lead Member for Education will respond to, using his delegated powers.
