RESOLVED - (i) That the submission of a response, as set out in Appendix 1, to the current Welsh Government consultation on the new Code of Practice and Enforcement guidelines in relation to Non-Domestic Waste in Wales be approved. (ii) That this matter be dealt with as an urgent item of business in accordance with Section 5 (Rule 5.8.10(m)) of the Council’s Constitution. Reasons for decision (i) To respond to the Welsh Government’s request for responses to the current consultation exercise scheduled to finish on 15 February 2023. (ii) To ensure that the Council’s response is submitted by the required deadline.

The Chief Officer Environment & Technical submitted a report (COET/06/23) to provide details of a consultation by the Welsh Government to increase recycling in Wales by introducing a new Code of Practice for separation of waste for non-domestic properties; and regulations for enforcement.
