RESOLVED- (i) That the draft response to Welsh Government (WG) who are seeking views on proposed changes to ensure social landlords take prompt action on health hazards in the home be approved. (ii) That this matter be dealt with as an urgent item of business in accordance with Section 5 (Rule 5.8.10) of the Council’s Constitution. Reason for decision To respond to Welsh Government within the consultation period, which is due to end Friday 20 June 2025.

The Chief Officer for Housing submitted a report (COH/29/25) that provided feedback to a consultation on proposed changes to ensure social landlords take prompt action on health hazards in the home. It proposes clear timelines for all landlords to investigate and address these issues once reported as well as a reporting mechanism to ensure transparency and accountability RESOLVED- (i) That the draft response to Welsh Government (WG) who are seeking views on proposed changes to ensure social landlords take prompt action on health hazards in the home be approved.
