Resolved that: 1) Councillor Andrea Lewis, Swansea Council be elected Chair for the Municipal Year 2024-2025.
Resolved that: 1) Roger Thomas, Mid & West Wales Fire & Rescue Service be elected Vice Chair for the Municipal Year 2024-2025.

Resolved that the Minutes of the Swansea Public Services Board held on 25 April 2024 be approved and signed as a correct record.

Each of the partners provided both a written and verbal update on the 8 steps in the PSB Action Plan 2024/25: · Transforming early years’ services across Swansea (Karen Stapleton, SBUHB) · Building on Swansea as a Human Rights City (Lee Wenham, Swansea Council) · Working towards Swansea’s net zero target and nature recovery (Huwel Manley, NRW) · Making Swansea safer, more cohesive, and prosperous (Roger Thomas/David Morgans, MAWWFRS) · Developing Swansea’s integrated cultural offer (Mark Wade/Tracey McNulty, Swansea Council) · Influencing and connecting with other governance arrangements across the Swansea Bay region (Lee Wenham, Swansea Council) · Improving data quality and accessibility across the Swansea Bay region (Lee Wenham, Swansea Council) · Developing Swansea PSB performance management arrangements (Lee Wenham, Swansea Council) Resolved that Swansea Public Services Board: 1) Notes the updates.
Swansea Climate Change and Nature Action Signatories Group (acting as Swansea PSB Climate Change and Nature Recovery Objective delivery group) sought approval of Climate Change and Nature Recovery Mapping Survey Report (March 2024). Resolved that Swansea Public Services Board: 1) Approve the report, subject to the suggested actions on page 61 being considered in priority order.
The Tackling Poverty Service Manager presented a proposal for a regional funding application to Welsh Government’s Child Poverty Innovation and Supporting Communities Grant. Resolved that Swansea Public Services Board: 1) Endorse the application outlined in Appendix A and support the implementation of the project, if successful.
The Head of Communications, Corporate Planning & Performance presented a report to outline how the Welsh Government’s allocated support for Public Services Boards would be prioritised in Swansea PSB to enhance their strategic capacity and capability in supporting the delivery of well-being plans. Resolved that Swansea Public Services Board: 1) Notes how the Welsh Government’s allocated support for Public Services Boards would be prioritised in Swansea PSB to enhance their strategic capacity and capability in supporting the delivery of well-being plans.
A letter from the Chair of the Scrutiny Programme Committee to the Chair of Swansea Public Services Board was provided “For information”. The letter included feedback on the performance of the Public Services Board which took place on 14 May 2024.
