Response by the Cabinet Member: Dear Cllr Les Thank you for your email. We completely understand why the lack of detailed information to date has been frustrating, and we are genuinely grateful for your continued interest in the proposals for a new bridge at Caersws. Russell George MS has also raised these concerns and we have responded to him with this information. Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to share more with our communities because the work remains at an early, high‑level stage. Although the Council has led the initial conversations, any future direction depends on shared interests and collaboration with the Welsh Government and the Trunk Road Agency. At this stage, we do not have an indicative timescale. We anticipate being in a better position to understand potential funding streams and possible options in the spring/summer and following the upcoming election. Until then, we must, unfortunately, ask for your continued patience, and we appreciate your understanding. When we are in a position to progress this scheme more tangibly, we will very much welcome the local community’s support, insights and feedback. Once we have more concrete proposals, we will make sure to engage openly with the community and provide meaningful opportunities for comment.
