Does dim crynodeb o'r cyfarfod hwn eto. Caiff crynodebau eu hysgrifennu pan fydd y cyngor yn cyhoeddi'r cofnodion, sef ei gofnod swyddogol o'r hyn a benderfynodd cyfarfod. Maen nhw fel arfer yn ymddangos ychydig wythnosau ar ôl y cyfarfod.
Response by the Cabinet Member: Response from Councillor Sian Cox, Cabinet Member for a Caring Powys. Thank you for your question to Cllr Sandra and I on 16th December seeking detail to support understanding of the costs of social care. I hope you can accept my sincere apologies for the delay in responding, for which I am to blame. I too am concerned to create resources which support councillors and the people of Powys more widely to understand not just the costs but the breadth and range of activity across adult social care in Powys. I agree wholeheartedly with the points you have made in this regard, which are in alignment with some work officers are doing for me, to put together some detailed information, in an accessible format, that really ‘paints the picture’ of adult social care in Powys, breaking the whole down into illustrations and numbers in respect of the different types of support we provide, the different population cohorts we provide it to, the range of different living arrangements involved in that, and the spectrum of costs from lower to higher intensity of support, with a case study from each of these components. On receipt of your email, I tasked officers with expediting some of that work to provide for you a fuller picture. This is a major piece of work, taking longer than I appreciated it would when I made the request, and is not yet complete, but rather than delay any further I’m replying to you now with the information you requested - specifically in your first two bullet points and implicitly, I think, in the paragraph which followed the bullet points. Please consider this reply the first in two instalments, the second of which will paint the more detailed picture for you. In the meantime: · The number of care packages provided per year: Each year adult services provides support to over 4,500 adults. · The average annual cost of a domiciliary care package: The average annual cost of a package is in the region of £20,800 per year. · Average cost of a higher intensity package, example 1: The average cost of a care package for an adult with severe learning difficulties is £8,064 per week. · Average cost of a higher intensity package, example 2: The average cost of a higher intensity package for an adult with complex care needs is £5,295 per week. I look forward to providing you with the additional detail in due course and would be happy to meet with you to share insights about how best we might ‘tell the story of adult social care’ to the residents of Powys, who through the Council Tax they pay, play such a major and indispensable part in meeting the needs of those among them who require care and support in order to live their best lives. Response from Councillor Sandra Davies, Cabinet Member for Future Generations. Thank you for your question regarding the costs of social care for Children’s Services that I received prior to Christmas. I would like to apologise for the delay in you receiving the information back to your questions. I have had the opportunity to connect with the relevant officers and am pleased to provide you with the answers to your specific questions. · The average number of looked-after children in the county at any given time: Average number of Powys looked after children 243, of which an average of 135 placed within County · The average annual cost per looked-after child: The average weekly cost per Child Looked After is currently £1,163.59 for 2024/25. (Based on figures at period 8 closedown, total weekly cost for active placements £307,187.63, total active CLA 264). This equates to an average annual cost £60,669.58 per CLA. Please let me know if you need any further clarification or additional details. I hope this information helps illustrate the financial aspects of Children’s Services and provides the transparency you are seeking.
Rhaid i gynghorwyr ddweud pan fydd ganddyn nhw gysylltiad personol â rhywbeth sy'n cael ei drafod, fel swydd, eiddo neu aelod o'r teulu. Mae buddiant sy'n rhagfarnu yn ddigon cryf i'r cynghorydd adael yr ystafell fel arfer a pheidio â chymryd rhan.
Caiff datganiadau eu darllen o'r cofnodion unwaith y byddan nhw wedi'u cyhoeddi.
Dyw'r cyngor ddim wedi cofnodi presenoldeb ar gyfer y cyfarfod hwn.
Yn rhestru cynghorwyr presennol y cyngor yn unig. Nid yw aelodau cyfetholedig, swyddogion a chyn-gynghorwyr yn cael eu dangos.
