1. Gambling Act policy 3 year review

   RESOLVED that the revised Gambling Act 2005 Policy as set out in Annex A to the report goes out for consultation and if no relevant comments are made then it will be published in readiness for 1 January 2025. Any relevant comments will require a further meeting for members to consider.

   County Councillor B Baynham was elected Chair until the next Council annual meeting.

   Gambling Act policy 3 year review

   The Committee considered the report regarding the review of the Gambling Act Policy. The Licensing Manager advised that the Gambling Commission has advised that there were no significant changes to the Gambling Act 2005 and it’s Guidance to Local Authorities that would warrant any changes in the Policy. She advised that local profiling statistics etc., contact details and links have been updated. The Committee noted that significant updates and reforms are expected from the Gambling Commission in 2025/26 and the Policy will be reviewed again once the Commission has published these updates.    Part 4 of the Public Health (Wales) Act 2017- Special Procedures (acupuncture (including dry needling), body piercing, electrolysis, tattooing (including semi-permanent make-up)

   The Licensing Manager advised that the report was not available for consideration. The new legislation came into force on 29 November 2024. In response to questions she advised that licences would now be issued for practitioners and premises and both would receive a compliance visit from Environmental Health officers. Training would be provided to the Committee to enable it to undertake it’s new duties.
