   Cabinet considered a request undertake a public consultation on proposals to introduce a stepped Council Tax premium on long-term empty properties, based on the length of time a property had been unoccupied. It was confirmed that owners of long-term empty properties would be advised that the consultation was taking place. It was further confirmed that the council had discretion to extend the maximum exemption period depending on the circumstances, such as properties awaiting probate.
