Does dim crynodeb o'r cyfarfod hwn eto. Caiff crynodebau eu hysgrifennu pan fydd y cyngor yn cyhoeddi'r cofnodion, sef ei gofnod swyddogol o'r hyn a benderfynodd cyfarfod. Maen nhw fel arfer yn ymddangos ychydig wythnosau ar ôl y cyfarfod.
Response by the Cabinet Member: Dear Cllr Baynham, Thank you for your question regarding the potential introduction of a tourism levy in Powys. At this stage, no decision has been made on whether the Council will introduce a tourism levy. As previously discussed, the current administration is taking a cautious approach and is seeking to understand the implications fully before any decision is taken. We are currently finalising a survey which will be used to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including local businesses, residents and visitors. This engagement is expected to take place over this summer and will be an important step in gathering views on the potential impacts, benefits and concerns associated with a tourism levy in Powys. Once the engagement exercise has been completed, the feedback received will be carefully considered alongside the available evidence to inform any future recommendations. This will ultimately be a matter for Cabinet to determine at the appropriate time. It is important to note that there are defined processes and timelines from initial proposal through to any potential implementation. This means that, even if a future decision were taken to proceed, a tourism levy could not be introduced immediately and would be subject to further formal steps, including formal consultation. The results of the consultation would then need to be considered followed by a statutory 12 month notice period if a decision were taken to introduce the levy. Accommodation providers are required to register with the Welsh Revenue Authority from Autumn 2026, regardless of whether their local authority intends to introduce a visitor levy. (Further information: Registering visitor accommodation: overview | GOV.WALES). Further information on the visitor levy in Wales is available here: Visitor Levy in Wales | GOV.WALES. I hope this provides a helpful update, but if you would like any further information or to discuss this in more detail, please do let me know. Kind regards,
Rhaid i gynghorwyr ddweud pan fydd ganddyn nhw gysylltiad personol â rhywbeth sy'n cael ei drafod, fel swydd, eiddo neu aelod o'r teulu. Mae buddiant sy'n rhagfarnu yn ddigon cryf i'r cynghorydd adael yr ystafell fel arfer a pheidio â chymryd rhan.
Caiff datganiadau eu darllen o'r cofnodion unwaith y byddan nhw wedi'u cyhoeddi.
Dyw'r cyngor ddim wedi cofnodi presenoldeb ar gyfer y cyfarfod hwn.
Yn rhestru cynghorwyr presennol y cyngor yn unig. Nid yw aelodau cyfetholedig, swyddogion a chyn-gynghorwyr yn cael eu dangos.
