Does dim crynodeb o'r cyfarfod hwn eto. Caiff un ei ysgrifennu pan fydd y cyngor yn cyhoeddi'r cofnodion. Mae'r agenda a'r papurau isod.
Councillor Mogford asked: Many months ago, you will recall that I mentioned to you, after a visit to a local secondary school, my concern that children did not seem to be discouraged from bringing e-scooters to and from school by the education staff including the Head Teacher. You indicated that you would take steps to resolve the situation. Only today (10/10/2025) many months on from our initial discussion, I drove down the SDR and onto Cooperation Road passing three schools. I counted over 12 E-scooters at various stages along my route. Some carrying passengers. These were clearly school children evidenced by their uniforms. I did see some adults on e-scooters also but that is another matter outside of this concern. What are you doing in conjunction with the schools to deter or prohibit e-scooters from being a common mode of commute for many children. This is a clear health and safety as well as criminal activity that seems to be tolerated. Also, with the night’s drawing in the absence of adequate lights on the e-scooters(not to mention the lack of any other safety equipment) will aggravate the dangers of serious accidents. I have taken the unusual step of copying in the local Police Inspector as I think there needs to be some joined up thinking and real accountability on the matter as well as immediate action. Councillor D Davies responded: It is illegal to ride privately owned e- scooters on public land, including roads and pavements. I have been assured that our Headteachers across Newport schools are doing their best to provide a range of public safety messages which are pertinent to their local communities. Any information we collectively have around the illegal use of e-scooters should be passed on to the Chief Education Officer in a timely manner. Education Services will work with Headteachers in the identified area to continue to deter such behaviours. I too will pass this new information to Gwent Police who I am sure will support surveillance and enforcement of this dangerous and illegal practice.
Rhaid i gynghorwyr ddweud pan fydd ganddyn nhw gysylltiad personol â rhywbeth sy'n cael ei drafod, fel swydd, eiddo neu aelod o'r teulu. Mae buddiant sy'n rhagfarnu yn ddigon cryf i'r cynghorydd adael yr ystafell fel arfer a pheidio â chymryd rhan.
Caiff datganiadau eu darllen o'r cofnodion unwaith y byddan nhw wedi'u cyhoeddi.
Dyw'r cyngor ddim wedi cofnodi presenoldeb ar gyfer y cyfarfod hwn.
Yn rhestru cynghorwyr presennol y cyngor yn unig. Nid yw aelodau cyfetholedig, swyddogion a chyn-gynghorwyr yn cael eu dangos.
