The minutes of the previous meeting held 8th July 2025 were agreed as a true and accurate record.
Adult Services End of Year Report 24-25 The Strategic Director for Social Services provided an overview of the report to the Committee. Comments and Recommendations: • The Committee requested an information update from the Head of Adult Services. providing more detail regarding the amber status reported under Objective 1 Action 1 – Direct Payments. • The Committee recommended including workforce data from previous years in the Mid-Year Review to compare progress. • The Committee recommended including data on the ages of adults being supported by the service. • The Committee recommended including data on feedback mechanisms that were available to residents. • The Committee requested an information update from the Head of Adult Services providing more detail about the impact of failing to meet MTFP savings • The Committee recommended increasing capacity, where necessary, to meet the demand created by increasing numbers of referrals. Prevention & Inclusion End of Year Report 24-25 The Head of Prevention and Inclusion provided an overview of the report to the Committee. Comments and Recommendations: • The Committee were content to receive the action plan for the young carers working group. • The Committee recommended including workforce data from previous years in the Mid-Year Review to compare progress. • The Committee recommended including further information about how Prevention and Inclusion links with the Anti-Poverty Strategic Plan • The Committee recommended providing a breakdown of the volume of engagement into interactions and outcomes. • The Committee recommended including progress against the aims of the participation and engagement strategy • The Committee recommended including further information on the use of technology and AI where applicable. • The Committee recommended that Cabinet continue to support the drive for longer-term, more stable funding for preventative services through engagement with Welsh Government.
a) Actions Arising The Scrutiny Advisor noted that there were no updates. b) Forward Work Programme The Scrutiny Advisor noted that there were no updates. c) Outcomes Monitoring The Scrutiny Advisor informed the Committee that all the outcomes have been updated and the recommendations from today’s Committee will be added.
