Resolved that: 2.1 The information contained within the Consultation Report (Appendix 2), be noted. 2.2 The establishment of a Welsh Medium Learning Resources Base at Ysgol Rhyd y Grug be approved. 2.3 The issuing of the appropriate Statutory Notice, in accordance with the School Organisation Code 011/2018, be approved.

The Chair noted that this was the last Cabinet Meeting as an Independent Group and invited Cabinet Members to address the Committee. Councillors A Barry, D Hughes and M Symonds expressed how it’s been a great privilege to serve the residents and communities of Merthyr Tydfil, highlighting the work done during their time as Cabinet Members. Councillors A Barry, D Hughes and M Symonds continued by thanking their families, Officers and Members of Staff for their support. The Chair then thanked Councillors M Jones and J Jenkins for their work as Cabinet Members. The Chair proceeded to thank all officers and staff at Merthyr Council and the schools and thanked the residents of Merthyr Tydfil for their support.
