The Planning Officer D Cross provided a summary of the application and outlined the current position. A Member asked whether the reasons for refusal could be amended and following a discussion the following reasons for refusal were agreed: 1. The development would give rise to an increase in the level of on street parking and congestion to the detriment of highway safety. Therefore, the development is contrary to Policy SW11 of the Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council Replacement Local Development Plan. 2. The nature of the residential use (House of Multiple Occupation) conflicts with the existing housing in the area to the detriment of the character of the area. Therefore, the development is contrary to Policy SW11 of the Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council Replacement Local Development Plan. Comments were made regarding the objections from residents Resolved that: The application be refused.
