The Police were not in attendance at the meeting but sent an email report. The Police figures for the period 11/12/23-14/01/24 for crime and ASB in Bedlinog and Trelewis were shared with Cllrs. Cllr Brown asked at the last meeting why the number of calls on email reports was not consistent with the number of incidents on the report, the Police have advised that one incident may receive more than one report/telephone call.

Item 534 – the Trustees of Bedlinog Miners Welfare Association have agreed to proceed with the application for the Tiny Forest at the former bowling green and have sent a letter of permission to Groundwork Wales. Item 537 – the grant to Bethel Chapel has been paid. Item 538 – MTCBC have been informed of a 0% increase on the Precept for FY2024/25. Item 541 – 12 Christmas meals were delivered to residents in Bedlinog and Trelewis.
Cllr Preston advised that she asked for volunteers to come forward to help clear the green line (safe route to work), one came forward but was unable to come along on the planned day. The Clerk will report that it needs to be cleaned to MTCBC and also ask for an update when the wall repair is due to be carried out by the landowner. Cllr Preston also stated that three residents in Garth Terrace have complained about a van parking on the junction and wanted to raise it with the Police this evening, but they are not in attendance again. They will be advised to report it to 101 and the Clerk will also contact the local Police Officer to make him aware. It was suggested that an Events Committee be setup to plan the budget and activities for the forthcoming year. Cllr Brown expressed an interest in being part of the committee. It was agreed that the Clerk will send out an email asking for expressions of interest and potential dates to meet.
There were no County Councillors in attendance.
The Trustees of Bedlinog Miners Welfare met last week and will be looking for a tenant for the refurbished bowls pavilion. We will be advertising shortly but Cllrs were asked to mention this around the community to identify any potential interest.
