Carys Kennedy advised Committee that following Council’s request for more training and information on the Constitution before approving, that a working group had been set up and Simon Jones had taken members through the first of three sections of the constitution and was looking to do this on a monthly basis, so that all elected members on the working group would have an understanding of the differences between the old and the new versions, and act as ambassadors and feed back to other elected members, with the hope that it got to the stage where members would be happy to approve the final version. A question was raised whether Lay Members would be included in the training and C Kennedy confirmed that this would be arranged as a separate training session. The Chair reiterated that the new version of the constitution not being approved did not affect how the Standards Committee operates as there was still a constitution to work to.
