The Democratic Services Manager presented a report (agenda item 5) on the Committee’s current Forward Work Programme. The recommendations were supported. The Strategic Finance Manager presented the report (agenda item 6) on the 2024/25 month 11 position for the Council Fund and Housing Revenue Account (HRA), prior to consideration by Cabinet. The Chief Executive presented a report (agenda item 7) and explained that to enable the Council to deliver services effectively, it needed to consider a wide range of risks and opportunities in the decisions that were made and those were recorded in the form of a risk register. A Corporate Risk Register had been developed and was owned by the Chief Officer Team and Cabinet. The recommendation was supported. RESOLVED: That the Committee is assured of the arrangements in place to manage the risks detailed within the Corporate Risk Register Report.

The Corporate Manager (People and Organisational Development), presented a report (agenda item 8) on the Gender and Diversity Pay Gap Report which was appended to this report and related to the snapshot of date as at 31 March 2024. It was moved that the report be supported, not noted, which was approved. With that amendment, the recommendation was supported. RESOLVED: That the Committee supports the report.

The Senior Manager Safeguarding and Commissioning presented a report (agenda item 9) which provided a quarterly update on the work being undertaken to address long standing Continuing Health Care (CHC) invoices. The recommendation was supported. The Strategic Executive Officer presented a report (agenda item 10) on the Public Services Board, following a request of the Committee at its meeting in September 2024. The report detailed how the Public Services Board operated, and provides details on where further sources of information on this matter can be obtained. Officers responded to questions on additional costs and changes impacting staff. The recommendations were supported. RESOLVED: (a) That the information provided on Public Services Boards be noted; and (b) That the Committee refers to the statutory guidance, and other sources of accessible background documents, for further and more detailed information on how Public Services Boards operate.
