RESOLVED: (a) That the Robin Hood Pantomime update and Theatr Colwyn hire prices for 2023 report be noted. (b) That the next Theatr Colwyn Joint Management Committee update report includes a financial, activity and community update.
Apologies for absence were received from Bay of Colwyn Town Councillors Hannah Fleet, David Matthews, Ricki Owen and Sarah Ecob (Head of Economy and Culture).

The minutes of the Theatr Colwyn Joint Management Committee held on 6 October, 2022 were submitted for approval. A Conwy County Borough Councillor stated that he had not received notification of the previous meeting and as a consequence was not in attendance. It was acknowledged there had been some technical issues in terms of meeting notifications and that the matter was being investigated. RESOLVED- That the minutes of the Theatr Colwyn Joint Management Committee held on 6 October, 2022 be approved and signed as a correct record.

RESOLVED: (a) That the Robin Hood Pantomime update and Theatr Colwyn hire prices for 2023 report be noted. (b) That the next Theatr Colwyn Joint Management Committee update report includes a financial, activity and community update.
The Theatre Manager presented Members with an update on the Robin Hood pantomime and hire prices for 2023. Reference was made to the following: · In 2021 to 2022 the pantomime was closed down as a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic half way through the run. In 2022/2023 Theatr Colwyn were able to present all scheduled performances of the Robin Hood pantomime (24 performances and 2 dress rehearsals). A total of 7007 attended. The company used local adult performers and children from the Pearl Shaw School of Dance. The reviews from Robin Hood, particularly on social media, were positive. · Dates for the 2023/2024 pantomime – Mother Goose had already been set and tickets were on sale as Robin Hood opened. · Prices for the 2023/2024 pantomime were the same price as for Robin Hood, if people chose to buy tickets, before the end of March 2023. From April, 2023 ticket prices would increase. The tickets remained a reasonable price and where possible, discounts would apply to assist customers. · In addition, reference was made to other activities to include the Oriel Colwyn exhibition, which was taking place at 4pm - 6pm on 23 March, 2023. Members welcomed the update and went on to discuss the following: · It was noted that the Christmas half term 2022, was later than usual, resulting in the holiday audience not being able to visit the Pantomime during the lead up to Christmas. It was noted the 2023 Christmas half term was also late, therefore a campaign would take place prior, to encourage customers to attend. · Revenue for block bookings for children/schools etc. in comparison to Venue Cymru. · How the Theatr contributed to the local community e.g. Creu Conwy was highlighted. · The support from the Bay of Colwyn Town Council. · Members requested that the following be included within the next Theatr Colwyn Joint Management Committee report. Ø Update to include past 4 months (approx.) and next 4 month projection. Ø The need for an annual finance update. Ø Activity update, to include dance schools and amateur hire etc. Ø Highlight the community benefits.
