Sandy Cove Task and Finish Group (T&FG) The Traffic and Network Manager and Lead Officer for the Task and Finish Group provided an update and stated that little progress could be made in regards to the highways element, until Welsh Government funding opportunities were identified. However, progress on the housing element was unclear and would need input from the Local Planning Authority. As a result, it was suggested that the T&FG continued until funding was made available for further development (construction phase), but meetings be limited to ‘as and when’ new developments arose. In response, a Local Electoral Division Member for Kinmel Bay, stated that he was hopeful that once the sea defences were in place, further funding opportunities would come forward. In the meantime, continuing to look for funds to make the properties more energy efficient should be encouraged. Reference was also made to unadopted roads and the associated difficulties. As a consequence, it was proposed and seconded that the T&FG continued to meet on a 12 monthly basis, with additional meetings arranged should something arise. RESOLVED: That the Sandy Cove Task and Finish Group continues to meet on a 12 monthly basis, with the option to meet more often should something arise.
Apologies for absence were received from Councillors Simon Croft, Louise Emery, Alan Hunter, Harry Saville and Goronwy Edwards (Cabinet Member for Environment, Roads and Facilities – Infrastructure).
