The Theatr Manager presented an update on programming and attendance at Theatr Colwyn, together with key achievements, programming highlights and audience figures for both live theatre and cinema, including community and educational engagement. In addition, it was announced that all seats within the auditorium were soon to be removed for refurbishment and put back in situ by the end of September, 2025. In considering the report, Members made reference to the following: • The increasing number of outside organisations/groups booking to use the facilities was praised. Securing new hirers and continually building connections to ensure local amateur drama and musical companies, dance schools, schools, and colleges hired the venue was welcomed. • The importance of promoting the Welsh language and culture and liaising with Welsh organisations, such as the Urdd Conwy. • In terms of developing the music scene and encouraging local ‘up and coming’ bands, Members were advised that the Winter Sounds Festival played a pivotal role in show casing local and national musical talent, however, it was recognised that more could be done via social media and website feeds to attract users, subject to available funding.
