The Chair made reference to a letter from the applicant’s solicitor, who requested consideration of the application be deferred for a period of 3 months for the following reasons: • Bundles B & C of the agenda failed to include significant information and evidence submitted by the applicant’s solicitor in September, 2023. • Members did not have enough time to fully consider all the documentation in order to be in a position to make an informed decision. • A deferral would allow for all parties to consider all applicable evidence and allow all parties to submit evidence in favour or against the application. In addition, the Chair made reference to a letter from Mr Peter Webster, who represented Gwrych Castle. The letter stated that, alternative pathways through Gwrych Castle land had been proposed for public access, which would not interfere with Gwrych Castle’s restoration and/or operation as a tourist destination and a result, requested the Committee defer consideration of the application pending further consideration of the alternative path proposal. Members were informed that Matt Georgiou (Head of Law and Governance), together with the Solicitor present in the meeting, had advised that it was a matter for the Committee to decide as to whether the matter should be deferred. Rhaid i gynghorwyr ddweud pan fydd ganddyn nhw gysylltiad personol â rhywbeth sy'n cael ei drafod, fel swydd, eiddo neu aelod o'r teulu. Mae buddiant sy'n rhagfarnu yn ddigon cryf i'r cynghorydd adael yr ystafell fel arfer a pheidio â chymryd rhan.
