RESOLVED that the objection be noted and that the 50mph Order be made.
The Cabinet Member received a report on a draft Traffic Regulation Order to consider an objection received to the advertised draft Order and determine whether the Order should be made. The Cabinet Member was advised that the road in question was the Class II B4556 Penygroes to Caerbryn and that one objection from a resident was received suggesting a lower limit of 40mph. The road in question did not meet the criteria for this further reduction due to the lack of main road junctions and houses fronting on to it. RESOLVED that the objection be noted and that the 50mph Order be made.

The Cabinet Member received a report on the Carmarthen Shopmobility Support for 2025/26. Shopmobility offers hire facilities, including wheelchairs and mobility scooters, for shoppers and visitors to use around the town. It aims to assist people with temporary or permanent mobility needs, helping them to navigate the town more easily. The Cabinet Member was advised that the authority had been supporting this scheme since 2011 and that it was very reliant on the grant support to continue operating. The funding for this service is provided through the County Council’s Community Transport element of the Bus Services Support Grant, which is allocated by the Welsh Government. The Cabinet Member asked a question regarding previous difficulties recruiting volunteers and was advised that in the short term this had been resolved, but that the authority would continue to work with the Shopmobility schemes on this. RESOLVED that a grant of £9,625 be provided to support Shopmobility in Carmarthen from 1st September 2025 to 31st March 2026.
