RESOLVED to note the list of Local Authority School Governor Vacancies received.
RESOLVED that the public be excluded for the following items of business as they contain exempt information by virtue of Paragraph 12 and 21 of Parts 4 and 5 of the Local Government Act 1972.

It was noted that Council, at its Annual Meeting on 23rd May 2024, appointed Cllr Sarah Merry as Chair of the Local Authority Governor Panel. It was noted that at the same meeting, Cllrs Dilwar Ali, Sean Driscoll, Robert Hopkins, Sue Lent, Ash Lister and Adrian Robson had been appointed to the Panel.
It was noted that Council, at its Annual Meeting on 23rd May 2024, approved the following terms of reference: For School Governing Bodies constituted in accordance with The Government of Maintained Schools (Wales) Regulations 2005: To advise the Council on appointments (and removal) of governors to be made by the Local Authority; To consider and make decisions relating to the recruitment, training and vetting of potential governors and any other matters that may be referred to the Panel by the Cabinet or the Constitution Committee; All Members of the Committee will be required to undertake relevant training to enable them to properly discharge their duties.
No apologies for absence were received, although Councillor Dilwar Ali was unable to join the meeting until the last application due to technical difficulties.
The following declarations of interest were made in accordance with the Members’ Code of Conduct.
