The Mayor thanked those Members and Officers who had attended the St David’s Day Parade in the town centre and everyone involved in organising the celebrations. The Mayor spoke of her delight to hear that Wrexham has made the long list of finalists in the 2029 UK City of Culture bid. Having narrowly missed out in the 2025 competition, she was hopeful that Wrexham would be the first Welsh City to achieve this status. The Mayor congratulated the team behind the bid and advised that to win the accolade could attract significant investment, boost tourism and improve access to arts and culture across the region, as demonstrated by previous winners. The Mayor invited attendees to join her for Wrexham Singing Streets on Saturday 2 May from 10am in the City centre. There had been a great deal of interest from numerous choirs. Lastly, as this was the final scheduled Council meeting before the Annual Meeting of Council, the Mayor thanked Councillors and Officers for the support they had shown throughout her term of office.

Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
