There is no summary of this meeting yet. One is written once the council publishes the minutes. The agenda and papers are below.
1.1 Apologies were received from Councillors Evans, James and Simons.
2.1 There were no declarations of interest.
3.1 The Committee agreed the minutes of the previous Statutory Licensing Committee were an accurate record.
4.1 The Team Manager for Licensing and Trading Standards presented the report outlining the proposed statutory licence fees for 2026–27 relating to gambling premises and film classification. 4.2 Members were informed that the methodology and background to fee setting were detailed in the accompanying report and appendices. Comparative information with Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly councils was provided. 4.3 Following questions from the Committee, the following points were confirmed: • Fees for track licences had increased due to the level of anticipated work • required, particularly preparatory research, as no track licences currently existed in Torfaen. • Fees for 25–26 in Torfaen had been higher than those charged by Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly for the same period. Future fees set by neighbouring authorities for 26–27 were not yet published. 4.4 The Statutory Licensing Committee approved the proposed statutory licencing fees falling to this committee for determination.
5.1 The date of the next meeting was to be confirmed in due course.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
Lists the council's current councillors only. Co-opted members, officers and former councillors aren't shown.
