4.1 The TML&TS presented her report whilst sharing her screen. She updated that in relation to 4.5.2, the trader had pleaded guilty and was subject to a £120 fine which had been reduced from £180 for entering an early guilty plea, and was also ordered to pay a £48 victim surcharge and £100 in costs were awarded to the Council. 4.2 In response to Members’ questions, the TML&TS responded as follows: · Around 20 complaints in relation to Hackney Carriage and Private Hire vehicles and drivers for the quarter was about standard. · In relation to vehicle inspections, the officer worked to a checklist to ensure compliance. Defects could be something as small as to not having the licence displayed on side or have the relevant signage. Any defects picked up the officers would advise and follow up, and revisit if needed. 20 defects was a lot, but this could be from various operators; they didn’t down to how many were at each premises. 4.3 The Committee AGREED to note the contents of the report and the activity report for April 2023 – June 2023.

Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
