The Service Director, Finance & Improvement Services provided Members with a report to set out proposed fees and charges levels for the 2026/27 financial year for consideration by the Llwydcoed Crematorium Joint Committee. Members sought further detail on the inflationary cost pressures facing the service. The Service Director – Finance & Improvement Services advised that expenditure on supplies and services is currently exceeding 10%. The Council is committed to avoiding the direct pass?through of these inflationary pressures and will therefore absorb costs above the 5% threshold. Members also queried the anticipated reduction in utility costs. The Service Director – Finance & Improvement Services reported that the revised utility tariff will take effect from April 2026. The impact on Crematorium expenditure will be monitored closely throughout the financial year, with any cost reductions experienced may provide an opportunity to allocate surplus funds to the reserves and any required adjustments will then be reflected in the budget for the 2027/28 financial year. Following consideration of the report, it was RESOLVED: - • Review the proposed fees and charges levels for the 2026/27 financial year and determine the levels to be applied from 1st April 2026 (or as soon as is practicable thereafter). • Subject to i, incorporate the financial implications of agreed fees and charges levels within the Llwydcoed Crematorium Joint Committee 2026/27 Budget Setting Report, to be reported to the Joint Committee in March 2026.
There was no urgent business to discuss.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
