There is no summary of this meeting yet. One is written once the council publishes the minutes. The agenda and papers are below.
Response by Head of Service: Thank you for your questions and my response are below: 1. The use of fireworks in a public place is enforced by the police. Trading Standards cover the licensing, storage and sale of fireworks. The ‘sale’ is in respect of age restrictions (only persons over 18 should be able to purchase adult fireworks). 2. Information in respect of fireworks safety has been published on Powys social media with a link to the ROSPA site included - https://www.rospa.com/home-safety/fireworks-safety. 3. There are no licensing requirements in relation to displays, nor any requirement for the organisers to notify the Local Authority of their event. It would be for the organisers to decide to buy ‘quieter’ fireworks and perhaps use this as a selling point.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
