Response by the Cabinet Member: Thank you for your questions and the responses to each are below: 1: Officers from Powys County Council are in regular dialogue with colleagues from Transport for Wales (TfW) who are the contracting body for this service and also for the train services that operate from Merthyr. Powys officers have forwarded them any questions, comments and concerns from Powys residents. 2: Again, we have raised this issue with colleagues from TfW but unfortunately, this does not appear to be an option in the short to medium term. We will continue to work with TfW to try and make more integrated transport options available for Powys residents. 3: This is partially correct. Powys has no control over the entire T4 timetable, that responsibility is with TfW as the contracting authority. TfW do not operate a bus service between Merthyr and Cardiff, that is a commercial service operated by Stagecoach, who are wholly responsible for the service, the timetable etc. TfW do operate the train service between Merthyr and Cardiff.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
