There is no summary of this meeting yet. One is written once the council publishes the minutes. The agenda and papers are below.
Response by Head of Service: I refer to your question regarding the press article quoting the number of potholes that have been filled in Mid Wales. The article referenced relates to the Welsh Government’s Local Government Borrowing Initiative (LGBI), which enables local authorities to access capital funding for investment in their capital programmes, including road resurfacing. As part of this initiative, Powys County Council submits data to Welsh Government on the length of resurfacing works undertaken using LGBI funding. The figures quoted in the press release, including the number of potholes “fixed or prevented,” are derived from Welsh Government’s own reporting methodology and not from data held or calculated by the Council. For further detail or clarification regarding the figures presented in the press release, we would recommend contacting Welsh Government directly. To assist, Powys County Council has already this year resurfaced approximately 65km of County Highway funded through the LGBI in 2025/26 with a further 2 months of the programme left to deliver.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
