Response by the Cabinet Member: Thank you for your enquiry. Heads of Service from the Senior Leadership Team have been allocated as link officers to each locality. Their role is to act as a named contact point and facilitator to help build relationships with Town and Community Councils (T&CCs). It is important to reiterate that communities should continue to liaise with their County Councillor in the first instance. Meetings Held in Each Locality To date, two rounds of evening meetings have been held across the five core areas. These meetings were facilitated by Cabinet members and supported by the link officers. The next round of meetings is currently being arranged for November. The expectations of link officers is to attend the twice-yearly evening meetings hosted in each of the five core areas, which are facilitated by members of Cabinet.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
