The Standards Community Sub-Committee considered the Deputy Monitoring Officer’s report. The Sub-Committee considered whether the hearing on 17 September 2025 should be held in public or in private (18.4.10.1). It considered the representations made by Councillor Pritchard in writing and verbally at the meetings and the letter received from the Ombudsman in connection with this issue. The Sub-Committee considered whether the statements provided by Councillor Pritchard (on the 9th and 12th of September 2025) are admissible, both in connection with their relevance to the facts and/or character. The Sub-Committee noted Councillor Pritchard’s written and verbal representations and the letter received from the Ombudsman in connection with this issue. It was moved and duly seconded that the meeting on 17 September 2025 should be held in private and that two written statements should be taken as character witness statements and be considered at Stage 3 of the hearing if required.
