There is no summary of this meeting yet. One is written once the council publishes the minutes. The agenda and papers are below.
Response by Head of Service: Residents are not required to book to use or donate to the re-use facilities at the Household Recycling Centres. Whilst the scenario outlined would be rare, discretion would be used if an item was brought to the re-use facility in good faith but in the event could not be re-used. However, if a resident arrived with a car full of items claiming that they were for re-use, when in reality this was not the case, they would be asked to make a booking. We do need to ensure that the service we provide is fair and hence this rule is in place to prevent a minority of residents exploiting this potential loophole. We have liaised with the contractor regarding this issue.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
