Response by the Cabinet Member: Thank you for your question and request for support for the redeveloped play area in Hay. Although the Welsh Government have allocated £5m to local authorities to support Play, Powys only has a very small allocation of that. Based on the criteria attached to the funding, officers are working to determine the best and most equitable way for the funding to be allocated to the most in need throughout the county. Additional response 16/06/25: Following our previous response to your question, regarding your interest and query about the amount of funding allocated to Powys by Welsh Government to support Play, we have a further update. There is criteria attached to the funding and each authority is also required to link to the recently completed ‘Play Sufficiency Assessment’ and identified actions. It will be possible for community organisations and Town & Community Councils to bid for funding to support schemes in their areas. Details of the criteria and process will be shared widely and communicated through various channels very soon.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
