Response by the Cabinet Member: Members of the Accelerated Improvement Board: The Chief Executive (Chair) The Director of Education Nick Batchelor, External Advisor to the Chief Officer Place And as appropriate for agenda: • Heads of Service in Education Directorate • Head of Planning and Regulatory Services • Communications and Engagement Team Leader • Directors/ heads of service in other council Directorates The Board will develop a Post Inspection Action Plan / Integrated Business Plan for Cabinet approval. As it will be dealing with operational issues it would be inappropriate for Councillors to be on the Board as this would blur the lines of operational responsibility. On the previous occasion when an Improvement Board had been established under an independent chair, this had been required by Welsh Government. On this occasion, the Accelerated Improvement Board has been established internally. As Leader, I have full confidence in the Cabinet Member for a Learning Powys.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
