Response by the Cabinet Member: Thank you for your question and apologies for not responding sooner. The plans for a new build school at Ysgol Bro Hyddgen, Machynlleth, have been submitted to the Council’s Planning, Taxi Licensing and Rights of Way Committee for consideration on 31st October. The full design for PV has not yet been concluded given that we are currently only at RIBA 3 stage of the design process. However, on the planning drawings it has been identified that an indicative PV array of 575 panels on the roof areas will equal approximately 1040m2 of array. In its own right this array is likely not sufficient to offset the full regulated and unregulated energy demand of the building, but further investigations are needed to understand the full impact and how much of the energy will be exported back to the grid.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
