Response by Head of Service: Building Control are notified of new developments via the submission of building regulation applications or initial notices. Bannau Brycheiniog National Park send Building Control a weekly list of new developments (planning applications). Powys County Council publish weekly and monthly ‘validated’ and ‘decided’ planning applications lists on their website. Building Control also becomes aware of developments via market intelligence, customer relationships with local architects and builders, and news articles on planning decisions.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
