Response by the Cabinet Member: Diolch am eich e-bost ynglŷn â gwasanaethau i bobl ifanc sydd â phroblemau iechyd meddwl. Rwy'n deall eich pryderon am bobl ifanc Powys a sut i gael mynediad at wasanaethau priodol. Ar hyn o bryd, nid oes cynllun i gael canolfan fel yr un ry’ch chi’n ei disgrifio sydd newydd ei hagor yn Sir Gaerfyrddin yma ym Mhowys ond nid yw hynny'n golygu na ddylid edrych ar hyn ar gyfer datblygiadau yn y dyfodol. Nid wyf wedi cael sgyrsiau penodol gyda Llywodraeth Cymru am y mater hwn ond byddaf yn sicrhau bod hyn yn cael ei drafod gyda chydweithwyr Bwrdd Iechyd Addysgu Powys. Rydym yn datblygu tîm ymlyniad therapiwtig newydd ym Mhowys a fydd yn gweithio ochr yn ochr â CAMHS a bydd yn fwy hygyrch i bobl ifanc sydd ddim yn bodloni'r meini prawf ar gyfer gwasanaeth CAMHS. Rwyf hefyd yn ymwybodol bod BIAP yn ystyried datblygu eu gwasanaeth CAMHS presennol er mwyn gallu cynnig gwasanaeth ehangach. Mae yna hefyd lawer o gyfleoedd i bobl ifanc ymgysylltu â chymorth, cwnsela a chynghori trwy amrywiaeth eang o gynlluniau sy'n bodoli ar hyn o bryd. Rydw i’n cytuno â chi bod lles emosiynol pobl ifanc yn hanfodol i'w llwyddiant, a hoffwn eich sicrhau bod llawer o swyddogion, gweithwyr iechyd proffesiynol a chynrychiolwyr PAVO drwy Fwrdd Dechrau Da a'r ffrwd waith iechyd emosiynol yn trafod y camau nesaf a'r adnoddau yn barhaus er mwyn gallu hyrwyddo iechyd meddwl iachach. Thank you for your email regarding services for young people with mental health issues. I understand your concerns for the young people in Powys and how to access appropriate services. There is no plan right now that an actual centre such as you describe as having recently opened in Carmarthenshire to be available here in Powys but that is not to say that this shouldn’t be looked into for future developments. I have not had specific conversations with Welsh Government about this matter but I will ensure that this is discussed with Powys Teaching Health Board colleagues. We are developing a new therapeutic attachment team in Powys which will work alongside CAMHS and will be more accessible for young people who do not meet the criteria for a CAMHS service. I am also aware that PTHB are looking into building their existing CAMHS service to be able to offer a wider service. There are also lots of opportunities for young people to engage with support, counselling and advise through a wide variety of schemes that currently exist. Like you, I agree that the emotional wellbeing of young people is critical to their success, and I would like to assure you that through the Startwell Board and the emotional health workstream there are many officers, health professionals and PAVO representatives who continually discuss next steps and resources to enable promoting healthier mental health.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
