Therefore the original proposal plans relating to AREA CODE PLAN CP185 within Appendix A to the report to be implemented in accordance with the Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996. For health and safety reasons as set out below: After full consideration of the existing traffic issues in School Lane and considering the proposal made by Cllr Peter Lewington the Cabinet Member felt that providing on street parking in School Lane before 8 am and after 5 pm and prohibiting waiting between those times was worthy of consideration. However, due to new legislation being imposed by 2024 where pavement parking will be illegal, and enforcement will be taken it is not appropriate to approve Option B. Should there be a need for emergency vehicles, specifically a fire engine after 5 pm and before 8 am they would not be able to drive up School Lane. There are bollards situated on the opposite pavement and to provide access vehicles have to park on the pavement. There is no other access to these properties other than from School Lane which is a no through road.
