Response by the Cabinet Member: The Planning Service has advised me that the enforcement investigation is being conducted by Luke Jones, Principal Planning Officer. A site visit was undertaken on the 27th March 2023 and the Service is reviewing the planning history for the site alongside the photographic evidence collected on site to determine whether further action is appropriate in line with the Council’s planning enforcement policy. I appreciate your frustrations with the amount of time taken with the enforcement case but it is important that evidence is collected properly to justify any necessary enforcement action. I have requested that you are updated on progress but please contact the officer in the first instance. As the responsible Portfolio Holder, it is important to me that the Planning Service improves the effectiveness of our planning enforcement service and I am able to confirm that one action the Service is taking is to appoint two enforcement planners.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
