Response by the Cabinet Member: Thank you for your questions. 1. With the agreement of the school, Ysgol Gymraeg y Trallwng will open its new doors to pupils at the start of the summer term. 2. The Welsh Government- approved funding envelope for the project is £9,110,566. This reflects the current scheme which includes both the listed building and new build elements, due to the fact that the original project had to be changed following the listing of the old Ysgol Maesydre building. 3. We are currently reviewing final costs with the contractor and will be in a position to confirm these in the new year. 4. The construction was originally programmed to be finished in late November, with the new school opening to pupils after Christmas. As it currently stands, Ysgol Gymraeg y Trallwng is going to be operating from their current site for an additional 3 months – any costs of maintaining the building during this period will be kept to a minimum, unless is of an urgent nature. 5. Costs are not yet known. 6. Delays to the programme have been caused by supply-chain issues. 7. The delays are caused by supply-chain issues – contractual matters are currently being reviewed.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
