Response by the Cabinet Member: Thank you for your question regarding the emptying of street bins in Presteigne. Like many local authorities, we have been suffering from staff shortages in the Waste and Recycling Team which became particularly acute a couple of weeks ago. As a result we did have to prioritise staff onto collection rounds in some areas. I am informed that we have now caught up but please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused. We are currently undertaking a recruitment drive both through our social media channels and also with posters advertising vacancies. If Members are able to assist in any way with this through their own channels it would be very much appreciated. In the meantime if there are any problems with missed collections these can be reported on our website where they will be actioned as quickly as possible.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
