Additional cross-border arrangements: Shropshire learners travelling to The Marches School and Bishop’s Castle Community College are transported on the X76 public service bus, with the associated costs recharged to Shropshire Council. Transport is also provided for six Herefordshire learners attending schools in Powys where capacity is available, with the associated costs recharged to Herefordshire Council. The Council will continue to keep these arrangements under review, taking account of pupil numbers, available capacity, operational requirements and value for money. Its priority remains to ensure that eligible learners can access suitable education through transport arrangements that are safe, efficient and financially sustainable, while working constructively with neighbouring local authorities where cross-border provision is required.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
